Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away Princess Float

There’s a brand new kind of sparkle coming to Magic Kingdom this summer… and it’s going to light up the night in the dreamiest way imaginable.

“Disney Starlight: Dream The Night Away” is the newest nighttime parade to debut at Walt Disney World, officially opening on July 20, 2025. And if you’re anything like me, you’re already dreaming of those glowing floats, nostalgic music, and magical moments only Disney can create. I love a nighttime parade, and this one looks like it will be really special!

Let’s dive into what we know so far!

A Parade of Dreams — Literally

“Disney Starlight” is more than just a parade. It’s a moving storybook of light, music, and magic. Each float has been designed to be a dreamscape on wheels—with cutting-edge LED panels, shimmering effects, and intricate light-based storytelling that unfolds right before your eyes.

The Encanto float uses curved LED panels to bring the magic of the Madrigal family to life, and the beloved Blue Fairy is created entirely from sparkling points of light. The finale? A dazzling surprise led by none other than Goofy—with some of your favorite characters joining in the final float. (No spoilers yet, but I’m already imagining who might be waving from that glowing finale!)

A Musical Score to Make Your Heart Soar

Show Director Tara Anderson shared that the original music for Disney Starlight was written specifically for this parade—and it promises to be an instant classic. Picture yourself standing along Main Street, U.S.A., Cinderella Castle glowing in the distance, and a majestic theme swelling around you. If you listen closely, you may even catch some familiar tunes from past Disney parades woven into the score. I’ll be listening for my favorites—how about you?

Dancing in the Starlight

The choreography, created by Cindy Wilson, draws inspiration from the animated films represented in the parade as well as a mix of dance styles that feel modern, playful, and classic all at once. Each movement, each eight-count, has been timed to match the lights and music perfectly. I already know I’m going to get emotional seeing it all come together live.

Merch & Munchies: Of Course!

What’s a new parade without new merch and themed snacks?

You’ll be able to grab a “Disney Starlight” logo tee, light-up Mickey Ears, collectible pin, cozy blanket, and a bubble wand that lights up in sync with the show (how cool is that?!).

But wait until you hear about the limited-edition “Disney Starlight” Popcorn Mix, debuting at the Main Street Confectionery on opening night. This star-kissed treat includes:

  • Bubble gum & blue raspberry candy popcorn
  • M&M’s® Milk Chocolate Candies
  • Mini marshmallows
  • A decadent white chocolatey drizzle

I’m not sure how I personally feel about this mix–it will certainly be sweet, that’s for sure! I bet it will be visually very fun, and I’m guessing tons of Disney popcorn fans will absolutely love this parade – special mix.

The Bottom Line

“Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away” is shaping up to be one of the most enchanting nighttime parades Disney has ever produced. From the lights to the music to the heartfelt choreography, everything has been created to touch hearts and bring dreams to life.

It’s been a long time since a nighttime parade was designed specifically for Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. There have been some amazing nighttime parades created for Disneyland and California Adventure over the years–because of their location, they can’t offer fireworks every night like they do at Walt Disney World. I’ve been really envious of the amazing nighttime parades guests can see at Disneyland–but I would never trade my beloved Disney World fireworks. Now, Magic Kingdom is finally getting its own amazing nighttime parade, and the nightly fireworks will continue!
