If you’re looking for a luxurious, elevated dining experience inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Tiffins is hard to beat. This high-end table service restaurant has long been one of my favorites for special occasions. It’s a serene escape from the chaos of the parks, filled with gorgeous art, adventurous cuisine, and a calm, elegant atmosphere that feels worlds away from typical theme park dining.
Tiffins, Photo: Brooke Hudson
But on our most recent visit in May 2025, while the food absolutely lived up to its reputation… the service fell surprisingly flat.
Setting the Stage: Why Tiffins?
Tiffins is nestled on Discovery Island near the bridge to Pandora—The World of Avatar. The restaurant celebrates world travel and exploration, and the theming is spectacular. From African and Asian artifacts to gallery-style displays of Imagineering sketches and photographs, it’s a feast for the eyes before you ever see a plate.
Tiffins, Photo: Brooke Hudson
My mom and I decided to return to Tiffins for dinner during our Animal Kingdom evening, taking advantage of extended evening hours for deluxe resort guests. We hadn’t dined there in several trips—largely due to the price—but I managed to snag a last-minute reservation after canceling a previous booking at Jiko.
Tiffins, Photo: Brooke Hudson
(One tip: Because Tiffins is on the pricier side, it’s often easier to get a reservation here than at other popular spots. If you’re looking for a high-quality, sit-down meal inside Animal Kingdom, it’s a great option to check on short notice.)
The Food: Still Outstanding
Let’s start with the highlight: the food was excellent. Truly. Every bite of our meal was beautifully presented and expertly prepared. I had a hard time choosing between two entrées (always a good sign), and my mom and I both enjoyed our appetizers, drinks, and mains.
Photo: Brooke Hudson
My mom had a glass of wine, and I had a specialty cocktail, Lamu Libation (STARR African Rum, Banana Liqueur, Guava Purée with Orange, Lime, and Pineapple Juices topped with Goslings 151 Rum Float). Either way, the drinks were great, the flavors were bold and interesting, and everything was served hot and fresh. On this visit, we elected to share an appetizer, and we chose the Pineapple Glazed Pork Belly. This was so good and very rich. It practically melted in our mouths! For the entrees, Mom chose the Pan-Roasted Fish Filet while I chose the Oaxacan Pork Duo. Both entrees were excellent.
Tiffins, Photo: Brooke Hudson
Tiffins, Photo: Brooke Hudson
The menu has changed a bit since our last visit—there are fewer entrées than there used to be; however, there was still a good variety of options available. One item my mom really missed was the forbidden rice she’d had on a previous trip. It had absolutely blown her away, and she was disappointed to see it gone.
Tiffins Menu
Tiffins Menu
Still, the available options were well-curated and reflected the same international flair and culinary creativity Tiffins is known for.
The Service: Not What We Expected
Here’s where things went sideways: the service didn’t match the setting.
Now to be fair—our server wasn’t bad. He wasn’t rude or unpleasant. He took our order and brought our food efficiently. But he was clearly uninterested in engaging with us. There was no warmth, no conversation, and no effort to make the evening feel special—even though he noted my mom’s birthday when we first sat down.
Tiffins, Photo: Brooke Hudson
In past visits, we’ve been blown away by the staff here. On multiple occasions, servers have gone above and beyond to create a magical, celebratory experience—sometimes bringing a complimentary dessert, offering recommendations, or just chatting kindly throughout the meal. That’s part of what always made the high price tag feel worth it.
This time? Nothing. And that contrast stood out sharply.
At a casual spot, I’d shrug it off. But at a signature dining location where the entrees start around $40, I expect more than basic, functional service. And after years of excellent experiences, this felt like a letdown.
The Bottom Line
Tiffins remains one of the best culinary experiences in any Disney park. The food is consistently top-notch, the setting is gorgeous, and the location is ideal for a mid-day or evening break at Animal Kingdom—especially if you’re staying deluxe and eligible for extended evening hours.
That said, our most recent visit reminded me that service matters just as much as food—especially when you’re splurging.
Would I recommend Tiffins? Absolutely—especially for foodies, special occasions, or anyone looking to escape the crowds and heat for an hour or two. But I’d go in with slightly more tempered expectations around the service, just in case.

If you’ve ever dreamed of trick-or-treating through Magic Kingdom, dancing with Disney Villains under the stars, or watching the Headless Horseman gallop down Main Street—in person—then I’ve got news for you: it’s time to get your Halloween ears ready, because Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is BACK for 2025, and it’s going to be bigger and eerier than ever!
This frightfully fun event is one of my all-time favorite seasonal offerings at Walt Disney World. It’s packed with exclusive entertainment, deliciously spooky treats, and just the right amount of mischief. Whether you’re a seasoned Halloween Party guest or considering it for the first time, this guide will help you plan a night full of magic, memories, and maybe a little mayhem. All this fun DOES come with a hefty price tag, though. Is it worth it? More on that below.
👻 What Is Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?
Held on select nights at Magic Kingdom Park from August 15 to October 31, 2025, this separately ticketed event transforms the park into a ghoulishly delightful wonderland. Think trick-or-treat trails around every corner, special shows you can’t see any other time, rare character sightings (hello, Jack & Sally!), and lower wait times for attractions.
Photo: Disney Parks
This isn’t your average Halloween party—it’s a full-blown Disney-style celebration of spooky season, designed to be fun, not frightening. So yes, even little ones (and big scaredy-cats like me!) can enjoy the thrills without the chills.
🗓️ 2025 Party Dates & Early Entry Tips
Here are the official dates for this year’s event:
🌟 Insider Tip: Even though the party officially starts at 7 PM, guests with party tickets can enter the park as early as 4 PM. That’s up to 8 hours of Halloween magic, so take advantage of that early entry time! If you’re planning to go to the party, don’t get a park ticket for the day of the party. Make that day a pool day or a rest day. Plan to enter the Magic Kingdom at 4 PM, and maximize the value of your party ticket.
🎟️ Tickets go on sale:
May 15 for guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resorts
May 22 for everyone else
Ticket prices are higher this year (big surprise, right?!?). Prices range from $119 to $229 plus tax per adult per ticket. That top end is about $30 higher than last year’s highest price ticket. Prices will be based on the date of the party you wish to attend. We can’t see those prices yet, but generally speaking, the prices are highest closest to Halloween itself, and lowest the farthest out from Halloween.
Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members will have access to discounted tickets, so don’t wait too long—these parties do sell out, especially closer to Halloween!
🍬 Trick-or-Treat Trails & Allergy-Friendly Fun
Let’s be honest—one of the main reasons I go is the candy. The treat trails are scattered throughout the park, and Cast Members (in the cutest Halloween costumes) hand out generous helpings of M&Ms, Snickers, Starburst, and more. Bring your own fancy treat bag if you’d like, but everyone gets a complimentary one too!
Photo: Disney Parks
✨ Food allergies? No problem! Grab a teal treat bag and collect tokens along the trail, which can be exchanged at Allergy-Friendly Centers for safe goodies. Disney does this so well and makes sure everyone feels included in the fun.
Costumes: Yes, Even for Adults!
This is the only time adults are allowed to dress up in full costume at Magic Kingdom, and the creativity is off the charts. Whether you go full princess, Disneybound, or villain-inspired glam, make sure to follow the official costume guidelines so you can focus on fun—not fixing your outfit all night.
Photo: Disney Parks
👑 Pro Tip: Florida weather can still be steamy in August and September, so opt for breathable, lightweight fabrics if you’re going all-in on your costume!
Photo: Disney Parks
Characters, Parades & Shows (Oh My!)
Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade
The Boo-To-You parade kicks off at 8:15 PM and is not to be missed! The Headless Horseman leads the charge (this is seriously SOOOOO cool!), followed by rare characters like Pain & Panic, Disney Villains galore, and adorable costumed versions of Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Donald…so fun.
Halloween Parade (Photo: Brooke Hudson)
Boo-To-You is my favorite Disney parade. I love a good nighttime parade to begin with, but Boo to You includes some really unique elements that you can’t get anywhere else. I love seeing the characters in their Halloween costumes. There are a group of “Gravediggers” that dance in the street with shovels (they even strike sparks off the street with their shovels!). The dancers from the Haunted Mansion waltz in the street. Goofy pedals a giant candy machine through the streets! Lots of Villains in this parade, too! It’s just a really fun and different parade.
Photo: Disney Parks
🧙♀️ Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
Winifred, Sarah, and Mary Sanderson return for this hilarious (and slightly spooky) stage show at the castle. With backup from villains like Hades and Dr. Facilier, the sisters try to brew up some mischief—complete with singing, dancing, and audience interaction.
Photo: Disney Parks
🎆 Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Fireworks
Hosted by Jack Skellington, this stunning nighttime show includes castle projections, fireworks, and appearances from Ursula, Queen of Hearts, and Oogie Boogie. It’s spooky. It’s magical. It’s a really good fireworks show, and it’s made more special by the fact that it’s limited and you can only see it during the Halloween season, and then, only on party nights. And if you really want to the see the show right, with all the projections and everything, you need to be in the park–which means you can only see it with a party ticket.
Photo: Disney Parks
🧟♀️ New for 2025: Villains, Zombies & Cadaver Dans
This year, you can:
Catch Mickey and Minnie together in Halloween costumes at Town Square Theater (first time ever!)
Dance the night away at a Zombies themed dance party
Hear the haunting harmonies of the Cadaver Dans in Frontierland
Meet fan-favorite villains roaming the park—sometimes with no warning!
Photo: Disney Parks
Stay tuned for more updates on ride overlays, specialty snacks, and exclusive party merch (because of course you need a glow-in-the-dark spirit jersey). Disney always introduces some special only-available-at-the-party merchandise. I don’t want to have to stalk it on eBay, so I’m planning to check it out in person!
👻 The Bottom Line: Is it Worth it?
That’s the real question isn’t it? Is the cost of a Mickey’s Not-so-scary Halloween Party ticket worth it? Does the experience match the ticket price?Answer? It depends. I know, I know. But it really does. A few years ago, my answer would have been a definitive YES. But tickets were more affordable in those days.
If budget is not an issue for you at all, I highly recommend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. I think this is a fun party, and there is quite a bit of entertainment provided. Plus, you get to see LOTS of guests in imaginative costumes–and you just can’t put a price on that!
I wish I had a better picture of this, I know it’s a little blurry, but I had to share. One of the cutest costume ideas I saw at a MNSSHP I attended. (Photo: Brooke Hudson)
If budget IS an issue for you, there are some tips you should consider.
Don’t buy a park ticket for the day of the party. The price of a one-day ticket to the Magic Kingdom starts at about the same price as the lowest priced Halloween party ticket. Of course, if you’re buying a multiday ticket, your per day per park price drops–but it is worth considering the cost of one day at the Magic Kingdom against the cost of the party ticket. I HIGHLY recommend buying one less day on your park pass, and making that day your party day. Rest during the day, or spend some time at the pool. Rest up and be at the Magic Kingdom ready to go at 4pm, when guests with party tickets can enter the park. The party doesn’t actually start until 7pm–but you can start enjoying the Magic Kingdom as early as 4pm. And for the cost of these tickets? I recommend you enjoy EVERY MINUTE you possibly again.
Take a nap. Seriously, to maximize the value of your party ticket, you will want to stay at the party until midnight. A lot of party goers will leave after the fireworks, especially those with small children. Character greeting lines and ride lines will be at their shortest the last 2 hours of the party. Be well rested so that you can enjoy yourself all the way to the end. (It’s not fun staying until midnight if you’re tired, cranky and dragging…so come to the party well rested.)
Don’t plan an early start for the next day. When planning your vacation week, remember that you will likely not be in bed before 1 am the night of the party (allowing for travel time to get back to your resort, etc.). You are setting yourself up for misery if you plan an early start the next day.
Wear a costume – but plan for the heat! The party is more fun if you are in costume. The cast members and your fellow partygoers will really enjoy it, and you’ll get more attention and interaction. BUT remember this is Florida and even at night, hot and humid are most likely the conditions for most nights of the party.
Photo: Disney Parks
Is this party worth it at $229 per ticket?
That’s a lot harder for me to say yes to. At $119 – $150, I can say a tentative yes, based on the parameters I stated above. One you get over $150, it starts to be harder for me (personally) to justify the price of a party ticket. But if budget isn’t an issue for you? This is a really fun party, and the parade, fireworks, treats and character costumes make this a really strong offering–especially if you’re going to be in the park for 8 hours (4pm to 12am). However, the actual party activities begin at 7pm. 7pm-12am is 5 hours. If you have small children, or get overheated or tired, you might leave at 10. That’s only 3 hours. I have a really tough time justifying $229 per person for three hours. I can justify it, though, if you want me to. Just email me, and we’ll chat. (Let’s talk about Broadway show tickets….).
Photo: Disney Parks
Something else to consider when planning your Fall Disney Vacation–as we get closer to Halloween, there are a LOT of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party nights. This means a LOT of nights when the Magic Kingdom will be closing to non-party guests at 7pm. Last October, my family went mid-October, and we really struggled to find a night when we could visit Magic Kingdom at night and see the Happily Ever After fireworks. It seemed lots of other fans struggled with that as well, as the Magic Kingdom was PACKED that night.
While I do recommend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party if your budget permits it, I do also encourage you to pay attention to the other days during your trip when there are parties going on. If you don’t have park hopper tickets, you likely will not want to visit the Magic Kingdom at all on those days, and if you really like the Magic Kingdom at night–it may be tough to find an available evening to visit the park.

I just got back from the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival a few days ago (The Flower & Garden Festival runs through June 2, 2025, so there’s still time!). I can’t believe it, but it’s already time to start thinking about EPCOT’s famous FALL Festival, the International Food & Wine Festival. If you’re anything like me, you’re already dreaming of strolling through EPCOT with a festival passport in one hand and a decadent bite in the other. Well, Disney has officially dropped the first round of details for the 2025 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, and it’s looking like another delicious adventure is just around the corner!
Let’s dig into everything we know so far—and why now is the right time to start planning your fall getaway!
Photo: Disney Parks
What Makes the Food & Wine Festival so Special?
The focus of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is of course, food and wine. EPCOT sets up “Global Marketplaces” all around World Showcase, World Discovery, World Nature and World Celebration, featuring unique food and beverage items from all over the world. If you’re familiar with EPCOT, you might know that there are already quite a few countries represented in World Showcase (11 countries actually), and you can already get food and beverages from all of those countries anytime you visit EPCOT. What makes the International Food & Wine Festival so important? Short answer? LOTS more countries are represented during Food & Wine.
Photo: Disney Parks
Every year, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival features diverse cuisines from all over. It truly is an embarrassment of riches. Even the pickiest eaters will find MULTIPLE things they want to try as they travel the World during this Festival. As we get closer to this year’s Festival, Disney will release a Disney Eats Foodie Guide that will list every single item on the 2025 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival menus. I’ll be sure to share that with you as soon as it becomes available!
Mark Your Calendars: 2025 Festival Dates
Get ready to snack and sip your way around the world from August 28 to November 22, 2025! This year’s festival marks the 29th annual celebration of global cuisine, and it’s shaping up to be another crowd-pleaser with nearly 3 full months of tasty experiences, live entertainment, and family fun.
Whether you’re planning a foodie friends’ trip or a magical fall vacation for the whole family, these dates give you plenty of time to work a visit into your schedule.
Emile’s Fromage Montage Is Back!
Cheese lovers, rejoice! 🧀 One of my favorite returning activities is Emile’s Fromage Montage, a cheesy scavenger hunt of sorts where you sample select cheese-focused dishes from different Global Marketplaces around the park.
This year’s sneak peek features:
Brazilian Cheese Bread (Pão de Queijo)
Griddled Cheese with Pistachios and Honey (hello, Greece!)
Fall Fruit Cheesecake with Boursin® Fig & Balsamic, pomegranate, and candied pecans
Collect stamps in your festival passport as you go, and once you’ve completed your montage, head to the redemption spot for a complimentary dairy-themed treat. It’s creamy, dreamy fun for all ages!
Remy’s Hide & Squeak: A Festival Favorite for All Ages
Inspired by everyone’s favorite little chef, Remy’s Hide & Squeak is returning once again! This is a must-do for families (or for grown-ups like me who just love a good scavenger hunt).
Photo: Disney Parks
We do these little Scavenger Hunts at each EPCOT Festival (each Festival has it’s own themed version) and we love them. They’re a fun way to notice new details, and a great way to get the kids excited to go around the world–even when they might otherwise be getting hot or tired (or both!).
Here’s how it works:
Buy your Remy map and stickers (usually available near Festival merchandise stands)
Hunt for Remy and his ingredients around World Showcase
Complete your map and collect your prize!
It’s simple, charming, and adds a layer of interactive fun to your festival day.
Bonus Tip: these little Scavenger Hunts can be a good way to convince the non-foodies in your group to approve a second EPCOT day during your trip. You get to try more food and more beverages…they get to hunt for Remy and win a prize. It’s a win-win for everyone!
🎶 Eat to the Beat Concert Series
Bring on the live music! The Eat to the Beat Concert Series is returning to the America Gardens Theatre, featuring a mix of returning fan favorites and exciting new artists. The lineup hasn’t dropped yet, but Disney has hinted that we’ll see both classic hits and local talent lighting up the stage.
Photo: Disney Parks
Bonus Tip: Want guaranteed seating? Book a Dining Package at select EPCOT restaurants and enjoy a delicious meal followed by a reserved spot for one of the shows later that day. It’s a great way to relax, refuel, and rock out.
Dining Package Details
The Eat to the Beat Dining Package includes:
Breakfast, lunch, or dinner at a participating table-service restaurant
An entrée, appetizer, dessert (or buffet/specialty plates, depending on location)
A non-alcoholic or alcoholic beverage (21+)
Guaranteed concert seating in the second section of the America Gardens Theatre
Photo: Disney Parks
This is a popular option for festival goers who want to skip the concert lines and enjoy a full dining experience during their EPCOT day.
🌱 Living with the Land Festival Displays
This is a hidden gem that I always recommend: During the festival, Living with the Land gets a seasonal refresh with special Food & Wine displays that showcase ingredients used in the festival dishes, along with sustainability tips and innovative growing techniques.
Photo: Disney Parks
I love Living with the Land. It’s a lovely, longish boat ride, usually with a pretty short line to ride. I LOVE going through the greenhouse sections of the ride–they do change seasonally–and with things growing all the time, there’s always something new to see. It’s a great opportunity to get off your feet and out of the heat and humidity (or rain) and relax for a little bit. Plus you get to learn a few things along the way.
BonusTip: If Living with the Land is a ride you really enjoy, you might want to consider taking the Behind the Seeds tour. This is a one-hour walking tour of the fish farm and the 4 greenhouses that you see during the Living with the Land attraction. You get a lot of behind the scenes information about the work Disney’s agricultural team is doing. The tour costs $39-$45 per person plus tax. Advance reservations are HIGHLY recommended as this tour does frequently sell out.

Touring Through a Downpour: Our Day Begins
We met our guide, Kevin, promptly at 8:00 AM. He’s been with Disney for 8 years and brought an impressive mix of storytelling, humor, and cast member pride to the experience. Our group included 21 guests, and though the skies were gray, the forecast had only called for a 10% chance of rain. Famous last words.
Kevin, our Keys to the Kingdom Tour Guide. Photo: Brooke Hudson
By 8:30 AM, light rain began falling. By 9:30 AM, it was absolutely pouring. Kevin, ever the pro, guided us to a covered seating area in Adventureland, where he kept the stories flowing despite the rain cascading around us. Unfortunately, many in our group had no rain gear at all. Mom and I had small umbrellas (thank goodness!) but no ponchos—lesson learned.
Ride Highlights: Jungle Cruise & Haunted Mansion
One of the big perks of this tour is that you get to experience two attractions—usually using a “back door” Lightning Lane-type entrance—and they’re hand-picked to match the theme and history focus of the tour. For us, the choices were perfect.
Jungle Cruise
This version of the Jungle Cruise was unlike any I’ve ever experienced. While a Jungle Cruise team member piloted the boat, Kevin himself did the narration, focusing on the history, evolution, and little-known trivia about the attraction. He did sprinkle in a few classic puns (because it’s not the Jungle Cruise without at least a groaner or two), but overall, this was a rare opportunity to experience the ride through a totally different lens. For Disney history lovers, it was a dream.
Jungle Cruise, Photo: Disney Parks
Haunted Mansion
Kevin used to work at Haunted Mansion, and his affection for the attraction was obvious. While the ride portion itself was standard (we boarded after the Stretching Room and rode like regular guests), Kevin prepped us with fascinating details about its development, backstory, and legacy. After the ride, we regrouped outside to continue the tour with fresh insight and spooky smiles.

⚠️ Note: Ride experiences may vary on different tour dates.
🍴 Early Lunch at Columbia Harbour House
By 10:15 AM, the water in the streets was 1–2 inches deep, and Kevin made the call: we were heading to lunch, rain or no rain. We walked (ok, semi-ran) through the downpour to Columbia Harbour House, our shoes completely soaked through.
We were welcomed upstairs to a cordoned-off dining space, where our name tags were waiting at our tables—and so was our food. We had pre-selected our meals when we checked in that morning.
Columbia Harbour House, Lobster Roll Photo: Disney Parks
Mom had the lobster roll, which she said was fresh and tasty.
I had the chicken tenders with fries—good, but definitely not hot. Not cold, exactly… just theme park lukewarm.
We had a much-needed 30-minute break to dry off, rest our feet, and regroup.
The Utilidors: Underground Magic
Around noon, we made our way into the Utilidors, the fabled “tunnels” that run beneath Magic Kingdom. It was a fascinating look at the real Disney—less fairy tale, more fine-tuned logistics machine.
We saw:
Dozens of cast members going about their day
Motivational and safety signage everywhere
The Main Street Philharmonic Band, casually walking underground (we saw them later, in full performance mode, above ground in the Hub!)
It was surreal and oddly moving. You get a sense of how many people work tirelessly behind the scenes to make the magic happen seamlessly “onstage.”
Our Guide: Kevin Deserved a Tip (But Couldn’t Take One)
Kevin handled the downpour, the pacing, and the questions like a total pro. He was warm, experienced, and clearly passionate about Disney’s history and operations. We tried to tip him at the end, but he politely declined. (Cast members on these tours aren’t allowed to accept tips.)
We did submit a cast recognition through the My Disney Experience app, but I wish we could’ve done more. He truly went above and beyond.

Things to Know Before You Go
Weather happens. Always pack a poncho or rain jacket—even if the forecast says it’s clear.
Wear comfortable shoes. You’ll be walking and standing for nearly 5 hours. I am not kidding–the tour was fascinating, but surprisingly very tiring. It was a LOT of standing. Our feet and legs were really complaining by the end of the tour. Imagine waiting in line for an attraction for an hour–and doing it roughly 4 times in a 5-hour period. EXHAUSTING. I can’t imagine how Kevin does this AND talks the whole time!!!
Photography is strictly forbidden in all backstage areas.
Lunch is included but basic—don’t expect a hot gourmet meal.
This is ideal for Disney lovers who crave the “why” behind the magic
✨ Final Thoughts
Even with the downpour, the puddles, and the not-quite-hot lunch, the Keys to the Kingdom Tour was absolutely worth it. The exclusive ride experiences, peek inside the Utilidors, and Kevin’s thoughtful storytelling made it an incredibly rich and rewarding experience.
If you’ve ever walked down Main Street and wondered, “How does it all work?”—this tour is your answer.
Would I do it again? Absolutely. But next time, I’m bringing a poncho.
Ahoy, Disney adventurers! Big news from the Seven Seas…
There’s a new gathering place coming to Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland, and it’s sure to be the spot for swashbucklers, scallywags, and pirate fans of all ages. The Beak & Barrel, a richly themed pirate tavern, will soon drop anchor and open its doors later this year—and Disney just shared a treasure trove of new details!
If you’ve ever dreamed of living the pirate’s life (without the seasickness), this might just become your new favorite Magic Kingdom hangout.
Meet Captain Merry and Rummy the First Mate
Disney has shared that The Beak & Barrel has quite the backstory. It was founded by the infamous pirate rumrunner, Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn, and her feathered first mate, Rummy.
Concept Art: Disney Parks
Rummy will be keeping a close watch over the tavern from his perch above the bar. Disney history buffs might recognize him—Rummy is a clear nod to the beloved Barker Bird who once welcomed guests to Pirates of the Caribbean. Though he “flew the coop” years ago, it seems he’s returned to Adventureland in this exciting new role!
Disney has told us that we expect Rummy to share some salty tales of piracy and maybe even lead a toast or two.
Step Inside “The Mess”
The heart of The Beak & Barrel is called The Mess—once the mess hall for Spanish soldiers, now transformed into a lively gathering place for pirates and adventurers.
Concept Art: Disney Parks
Long communal tables encourage guests to swap stories over grog and grub, while a massive anchor draped in candles and wax drips overhead, setting the perfect piratey mood.
The bar itself looks like it will be a work of art, cobbled together from pieces of a cursed shipwreck. Look closely and you might spot the Enchanted Rum Bottle, a magical relic gifted by none other than Tia Dalma herself! Rumor has it this mystical bottle powers the tavern’s specialty brews.
Keep an eye out for Rummy—he may be spotted hopping along the bar, keeping everything ship-shape in Captain Merry’s absence.
The Captains’ Quarters: For Pirates with Refined Taste
For those who prefer a touch of luxury with their adventure, the Captains’ Quarters offers a more upscale (but still delightfully weathered) retreat.
Concept Art: Disney Parks
Once the private quarters of the Spanish comandante, this room now showcases artwork, drapery, and—of course—signs of pirate mischief like slashed curtains and scorch marks.
Above the fireplace, five miniature ships in glass bottles tell their own mysterious tale. Legend says they represent pirate crews from around the world who united to fight oppression. And if the legends are true… these tiny vessels might just come to life when you least expect it. I’m excited to see what Disney has in store for us with these.
What’s on the Menu? Stay Tuned!
While Disney hasn’t yet revealed the food and drink lineup, we do know The Beak & Barrel will serve a sea-worthy selection of drinks and bites fit for pirates of all ages. I’ll be keeping a weathered eye out for more details as soon as they’re announced. I’m betting that Disney will offer some sort of limited edition souvenir mug or glass themed to The Beak and Barrel a la Trader Sam’s.
Final Thoughts: A Must-Visit for Pirate Fans
Whether you’re a Pirates of the Caribbean superfan or just love a fully themed Disney experience, The Beak & Barrel sounds like it’s shaping up to be a standout addition to Magic Kingdom.
Between the rich backstory, immersive decor, and nods to Disney history, this tavern promises to be more than just a spot to grab a drink—it will be an experience.
So, polish up your cutlasses and practice your best “Arrr!” We’ll all be gathering at The Beak & Barrel soon. Stay tuned for updates—and maybe I’ll see you there, mateys!
Coming soon: As soon as Disney releases the official menu and opening date, I’ll share all the details here. Be sure to subscribe to my newsletter so you don’t miss out!
Big news, Disney foodies and cocktail connoisseurs! A brand-new adult-exclusive lounge is coming to EPCOT — and it’s tucked inside Spaceship Earth itself!
Photo: Disney Parks
Opening June 4, the GEO-82 Lounge promises a sophisticated escape filled with incredible drinks, stunning small plates, and gorgeous views of the World Celebration Gardens. I’m already picturing myself relaxing here after a day of wandering around World Showcase — and if you’re a fan of creative cocktails and beautiful bites, you’ll definitely want to add this new spot to your must-visit list!
Concept Art: Disney Parks
Even better? Reservations for GEO-82 open on May 6, so get ready to snag your spot!
Let’s dive into everything we know so far about this exciting addition to EPCOT…
A Luxe Lounge Inside Spaceship Earth
First of all, can we take a moment to appreciate how cool it is that GEO-82 is located inside Spaceship Earth? The design of the lounge is inspired by the iconic architecture of the geosphere, blending EPCOT’s classic futuristic vibes with a warm, inviting atmosphere perfect for an afternoon break or a relaxing end to your park day.
And speaking of endings — if you’re looking for a truly memorable night, GEO-82 will offer a Fireworks Viewing Experience as part of Disney’s Enchanting Extras Collection! More on that in just a bit…
Innovative Cocktails (and Mocktails!) to Savor
The GEO-82 beverage program is truly something special. Here are just a few highlights:
Photo: Disney Parks
Brown Butter Old Fashioned: Bourbon lovers, prepare yourselves — this twist on a classic features brown butter-infused bourbon and Mexican chocolate bitters. Rich, smooth, and decadent.
Clarified New York Sour: A visually stunning cocktail that’s equal parts beautiful and delicious, made with bourbon, sherry, and a red wine float.
Strawberry-Black Pepper Sour: A flavor explosion with strawberry, lemon, and a spicy black pepper twist.
Caramelized Leek Martini: I’m intrigued (and a little obsessed already) by this inventive mix of gin, vermouth, caramelized leek, and pickled onion.
Photo: Disney Parks
And for my fellow non-drinkers (or those looking for a refreshing break between sips), GEO-82 offers two gorgeous zero-proof cocktails:
Photo: Disney Parks
A Walk Through the Garden: Basil, fennel, lemon, and bright botanicals.
Manhattan in the Morning: Cold brew coffee meets maple, cherry, and walnut bitters.
Of course, you’ll also find an impressive selection of wines (including Champagne and Rosé) and a curated list of beers, including non-alcoholic IPA options!
Photo: Disney Parks
Small Bites Worth the Hype
The GEO-82 culinary team clearly understood the assignment — the food menu reads like a dream for anyone who loves gourmet, global flavors:
Photo: Disney Parks
Jumbo Lump Crab Gâteau: Elevated with smoked cheddar, pickled mustard seed-lemon vinaigrette, and topped with Siberian Supreme Caviar.
Truffled Ahi Tuna: Featuring whisky barrel-aged soy-truffle ponzu, citrus, scallions, and black sesame.
Cannellini Hummus (Plant-Based!): Served with heirloom radish, pumpkin seed pistou, and crispy pappadam.
Funghi Flatbread: Roasted mushrooms, miso-mascarpone, mozzarella, fontina, pickled onions, and a drizzle of black garlic molasses.
Photo: Disney Parks
There’s also a Chef’s selection of artisanal cheeses and cured meats — perfect for nibbling while you sip!
Fireworks + Champagne = A Night to Remember
Now for one of the most exciting parts: The GEO-82 Fireworks Experience!
If you’re looking for a truly special way to end your EPCOT day, you can book this exclusive experience and enjoy:
Reserved seating with incredible views of Luminous: The Symphony of Us
A tasting tower filled with savory and sweet bites
Champagne poured tableside
Event-exclusive cocktails
This could be such a fun date night, anniversary celebration, or just a perfect self-care treat. We do not have any pricing for this experience yet, but I’m expecting this will be priced similar to the Seats & Sweets Dessert Parties at the Magic Kingdom [Currently, $119-$129 for Adults, $75 for Kids]. I’m basing this on the fact that Seats & Sweets includes reserves seating, beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and dessert stations.
The current description of this experience at GEO-82 Lounge currently sounds a little more “limited” and includes champagne–but it sounds like the treats will not necessarily be “all you care to enjoy” like they are at Seats & Sweets–so it will definitely be a different experience. I could justify a lower price or a higher price–especially once we get a look at the seating for this, and the actual view of the fireworks. And of course, get an idea of what exactly will be included in the “tower” of savory and sweet bites. I will say that Seats & Sweets is one of my favorite “extras” at the Magic Kingdom–I love being able to actually sit down to watch the fireworks, and the views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks from Seats & Sweets are outstanding. If you’d like to read more about THAT experience, please click here.
I’m very excited to see inside the lounge and check out the fireworks viewing potential. As soon as Disney shares pricing for this experience, I will share it with you.
Souvenir Alert!
If you fall in love with the vibe at GEO-82 (and I think a lot of us will), you’ll even have the chance to purchase beautiful souvenir glasses inspired by the lounge itself. These collectible glasses will be available for guests with reservations, and you can mobile order them during your visit!
Photo: Disney Parks
I really like the look of these, especially if the GEO-82 logo is etched and not a sticker or layered on. We do not have prices on these yet, but I suspect there will be “limited-edition” specialty drink specials at outrageous prices that will include a souvenir glass with purchase. And of course, it sounds like Disney will also make the glasses available for purchase without a drink. I’m very curious to see what these prices will be.
Photo: Disney Parks
Final Thoughts
I’m really looking forward to the opening of GEO-82 Lounge. I am a BIG fan of places to sit and relax in the middle of a busy theme park–especially if they are air conditioned or have fans for those crazy hot Disney days!
I love that EPCOT continues to evolve, offering new spaces that blend innovation, relaxation, and unforgettable flavors. Whether you’re popping in for a quick mid-day pick-me-up or ending your night with bubbles and fireworks, GEO-82 sounds like a must-visit for adults who love a little magic mixed with their martinis.
I am a little disappointed that Mom and I will not get to check it out when we are at EPCOT for the International Flower & Garden Festival next week. I was hoping GEO-82 Lounge MIGHT open in May…but the excuses for a quick mid-Summer trip are just adding up!
Don’t forget — reservations open May 6! Let me know if you plan to check it out — maybe I’ll see you there, sipping on a Brown Butter Old Fashioned! 😉

If you’ve been dreaming of a magical Disney World vacation with your little ones, 2026 just might be your year. Disney just announced a brand-new offer that has me (and my fellow Disney planning fans) doing a happy dance around Cinderella Castle!
Starting April 22, 2025, you can officially book your 2026 Walt Disney World vacation — and there’s a seriously sweet deal on the table:
🎈 Kids ages 3–9 get the Disney Dining Plan FREE when staying at a Disney Resort hotel — as long as the adults in the party purchase a dining plan as part of their vacation package.
Yes, you read that right. FREE dining for the kiddos for all of 2026. 🍕🍓🥪🧃👑
Let’s break it down and talk about why this could be a big win for your family—and why now is a perfect time to plan ahead.
Free Dining CAN save families a lot of money, depending on the rules Disney sets around each specific Free Dining offer. And most of us, when we hear FREE anything in relation to Disney, we get excited! A Walt Disney World vacation is an expensive vacation, there is no getting around that. And any offer that can potentially save you money is OF COURSE something we want to look at.
But it is important to remember that Free Dining is not always the best deal for every family. Let’s take a look at what this particular offer, 2026 Kids Eat Free with the Disney Dining Plan, really means.
🏰 Why This Free Dining Plan Offer MIGHT be a Game-Changer for Families
As a Disney travel planner who’s helped lots of families make their Disney dreams come true, I can tell you this: dining costs add up fast, especially with little ones who want their Mickey waffles and then some!
With this 2026 offer:
Kids (ages 3–9) get a full Disney dining plan for free
To take advantage of this offer, each adult will need to purchase a dining plan with their vacation package
Pro: You’ll enjoy peace of mind knowing meals and snacks have been “prepaid” with your vacation package
You can make advance dining reservations, use Mobile Order, and skip the stress of budgeting food during your trip
Whether your kids love character breakfasts, classic burgers, or Disney’s famous chicken tenders, they’ll be covered — and that means you could potentially save hundreds of dollars over the course of your stay.
Things to consider:
Photo: Disney Parks
How your children like to eat. If your children are good “eaters” and like to eat a normal children’s portion at most meals, you definitely would have to budget for their meals as part of your vacation budgeting. However, if your kid(s) are extremely light eaters, or mainly eat off of mom and dad’s plates, you may not need to budget as much for their meals.
How many children under 9 you have. Another important factor to consider when evaluating this particular FREE Dining offer: how many members of your family actually qualify? For example, if you are a family of five, with 2 adults and 3 children, you could potentially get free dining for all three children. As long as all three children are under the age of 10. But if that same family of five is 2 adults and three kids, but the kids are aged 6, 10 and 12–you’d be buying the regular dining plan for 4 family members and getting a FREE dining plan for 1 family member. As you can see, the ages of your children will have a significant impact on how much you could potentially save with this offer. AND, how much you might have to spend to GET that offer.
How YOU like to eat on vacation: Just as important as your children’s eating habits are YOUR habits. Are you a light eater? Do you have a big appetite? Do you and your spouse often split entrees? Conversely, do you each always order a different entree so you can try new things and share them? Are you a vegetarian? Do you eat at least 2 meals every day? All of these questions can have an impact on whether the Dining Plan is a good fit for your family. Remember, one of the caveats for this newest Free Dining offer is that each adult in the vacation package must purchase a dining plan. So if there are two adults in your family, you will be purchasing the dining plan for EACH of you. Which can be TERRIFIC, don’t get me wrong. But if you often share entrees or skip meals? Maybe not.
Chef Mickey’s Photo: Disney Parks
How you like to budget for your vacations. Do you prefer to know as many costs up front as possible, and fully pay for as much of your trip as you can before you leave home? Or are you more comfortable paying up front for your lodging, travel costs and park tickets, but prefer to bring money with you on vacation to cover meals, snacks and beverages? Some families prefer to prepay for their entire vacation, feeling more relaxed during the trip because they know they already paid for it. Other families prefer to put “during vacation” expenses on credit cards to pay off AFTER vacation. And there are others that bring cash on vacation for food and incidentals, and when the cash runs out, they’re done. Everyone has a slightly different approach to finances for vacations. Whether the dining plan or any FREE dining plan is a good fit for your family depends a lot on how YOU prefer to approach your vacation budget.
Does your family snack? Now, this may SEEM like a silly question–but for some families, this is a REAL sticking point. When you get any of the Dining Plans, every person on the plans (including free dining plans) will get 1 snack credit per day. You can use these on things like Mickey Bars, chips, even bottled water. BUT any unused snack credit goes to waste–and essentially costs you $4-$6. If your family snacks, you will likely have no trouble using all your snack credits. But if your family DOESN’T snack, you may be paying for something you won’t use.
Photo: Disney Parks
Do you qualify for any other kinds of discounts at Disney World for your 2026 vacation? Sometimes, there are deeper discounts available for members of the military, Florida residents or annual passholders.
FREE Dining isn’t REALLY free. We all know that in today’s world, nothing is ever really free. You are paying for the “free” thing somewhere else. In the case of Disney Free Dining, how much Kids Free Dining in 2026 will benefit you really depends on what other discounts you may qualify for, and whether or not the Dining Plan is a good fit for your family.
If you’d like to talk through any of these questions, feel free to reach out to me. I can explore all available discounts for your vacation, and help you to determine if Free Dining For Kids in 2026 is truly a great deal for YOU.
Bonus: When you work with an authorized Disney Vacation Planner like me, we monitor future discounts as they become available. If Disney releases a new discount that could save you money before your final payment is made, your planner can update your vacation package to apply that discount!

At long last, our beloved mermaid Ariel is returning to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney has announced that FINALLY, The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure opens May 27.
We’ve been waiting, quite literally, for YEARS for this opening. Sadly, the previous Ariel attraction at Hollywood Studios, the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, never reopened post-Covid. That attraction still holds a very special place in my heart. Part puppet show, part stage show, the 25 minute attraction was entertaining, fun and heart warming. This new show will run in the same theatre; however, Disney promises us that the theatre has been completely redesigned and overhauled.
The BIG Reveal!
“The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” is officially opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 27, 2025! That’s right, in just over a month, we’ll all be able to journey under the sea with Ariel and her adorable friends in this completely reimagined theatrical production!
What Makes This Show So Special?
Disney has promised that this completely new show is unlike any other show they’ve done so far. They are promising that the new show will feature:
Stunning set pieces that will transport you straight to Ariel’s treasure trove
Imaginative costumes that bring our favorite underwater characters to life
NEW digital puppetry (I’m dying to see how they bring Flounder to life!)
Jaw-dropping special effects (because Disney magic, hello!)
A bold new design aesthetic that shows us Ariel’s unique view of the world
AND if that wasn’t exciting enough… they’re adding NEW SONGS to the performance! 🎵
The Music That Will Have You Humming All Day
Of course, our beloved classics “Under the Sea” and “Part of Your World” will be featured. But the show will also debut two songs that are new to the theater: “Daughters of Triton” and “Kiss the Girl”! I always wondered why Kiss the Girl wasn’t part of the old Voyage of the Little Mermaid–it really felt like a miss. That’s such a classic song from the movie, and let’s face it: for all of us romantics, its such a magical scene.
Concept Art: Disney Parks
I’m sure we will all be walking around the parks singing our favorite Little Mermaid songs after we’ve watched this show.
Mark Your Calendars NOW!
The show opens May 27th with multiple showtimes each day, so even if you can’t make opening day, you’ll have plenty of chances to experience the magic. I’ve got my fingers crossed that the show might open for early previews when Mom and I are there in early May so that we’ll get a chance to see it. Unfortunately, I suspect we’ll be just a little bit too early for this show to be in previews while we’re there. But you never know!
If we don’t get the chance to see it in May, I guess I’ll just HAVE to plan another trip later this summer to make sure that I get to see The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure AND Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After. The ongoing challenges of a Disney parks fan!
The Bottom Line
I believe Disney’s Hollywood Studios visitors will really enjoy the new entertainment offerings coming this summer. The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure is a welcome addition, and I suspect we are really in for a treat with this show. If nothing else, it’s inside in an air-conditioned theatre with seats–always a boon in the Florida heat and humidity!
Are you excited for this new show featuring our beloved mermaid, Ariel, and her friends? Please drop a comment below and let me know if you’re most excited to see this new show, or the other show opening on the same day: Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After!
Disney’s Grand Floridian: Victorian Elegance Gets a Fresh Update
One of the most popular deluxe resorts at Walt Disney World is getting a facelift. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort’s lobby is getting renovated this year!
A Victorian Dream Just Steps from Magic Kingdom
Stepping into the Grand Floridian is like being transported to another era—an elegant Victorian wonderland that somehow feels both nostalgic and fresh at the same time. Just minutes from Magic Kingdom (you can see Cinderella Castle and even watch the fireworks from this resort!), this stunning property has been impressing Disney guests since 1988.
What makes this resort truly special is how it celebrates Florida’s history and the golden age of travel. Those gorgeous seaside hotels of yesteryear? The Grand Floridian captures that essence perfectly while adding that special Disney magic we all crave.
The Grand Floridian Photo: Disney Parks
The Stunning Lobby Transformation
Disney’s Grand Floridian lobby renovation marks the final piece of the resort’s multi-year refurbishment project. The Grand Floridian’s rooms, restaurants and even the spa have all gotten updated over the last couple of years. From the concept art of the planned lobby renovations, we can tell that Disney has saved the best for last.
The most AMAZING planned addition? A gorgeous new lobby bar!
This isn’t just any hotel bar. Inspired by the lobby’s iconic birdcage, this new bar will feature beautiful Victorian details—intricate woodwork, stunning stained glass, and elegant brass accents. Stained glass and colorful birds will be hidden throughout the atrium’s design.

And don’t worry, Disney purists! That charming cage-style elevator we all know and love? It will still be there, directly opposite the new bar. Disney knows not to mess with perfection!
Fresh but Familiar
What I love most about this renovation is how respectful it is to the Grand Floridian’s heritage. The refreshed lobby, staircase, and front desk will feature botanical accents and inviting colors that create a dreamy, garden-like atmosphere.
The new carpeting is beautiful—Victorian-inspired borders with hand-drawn florals that were inspired by turn-of-the-century botanical studies. It’s these little details that make Disney so special, right?
All the new furnishings blend rich finishes and brass accents with fabrics that just make you want to sink in and stay awhile.

The Disney Difference
Staying at a Disney Resort hotel is always magical, but there’s something extra special about the Grand Floridian. It’s one of more than 25 Disney Resort hotels at Walt Disney World, and one of only a handful considered “Magic Kingdom Resorts”.
Being so close to the Magic Kingdom means you can pop back for an afternoon nap. You have the option to take the monorail or a bus…but you’re even close enough to walk to the Magic Kingdom. Staying at the Grand Floridian will give you access to the Seven Seas Lagoon. You can rent a variety of watercrafts to play on the Lagoon and at night, you can see the classic Electrical Water Pageant!
Electrical Water Pageant Photo: Disney Parks
Disney’s Grand Floridian is one of only two Disney World Deluxe Resorts that feature a spa. (Disney’s Saratoga Springs is the other one, in case you were curious). The Grand Floridian is also the only Walt Disney World resort to feature its own Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. (Note: The Grand Floridian’s Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is not currently open; however, I’m hopeful that it will reopen later this year.)

Worth Every Penny
Is Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort a splurge? Absolutely.
Is it worth it? It depends on what’s important to you, but if you prefer a deluxe experience and staying near the Magic Kingdom is important to you, it’s really hard to beat the Grand Floridian.
Whether you’re celebrating something special (anniversary trip, anyone?), treating yourself to an unforgettable meal at Victoria & Albert’s (which, by the way, now has a MICHELIN STAR!), or you’re lucky enough to call it your home away from home as a Disney Vacation Club member, this resort is pure magic.
Victoria & Albert’s Photo: Disney Parks
Sometimes things at Disney change, and that’s okay—it’s part of Walt’s vision to keep growing and evolving. But some things, like the warm welcome you receive when checking in, the meticulous attention to detail, and that heart-fluttering feeling of stepping into somewhere truly special—those things will always remain the same at the Grand Floridian.
Have you stayed at the Grand Floridian? Are you excited about the lobby renovations? Drop me a comment below—I’d love to hear your thoughts!
